Welcome From our Chair

Welcome to the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at the University of Utah!

This Department is a special place. Having joined as chair on September 14, I have already felt the energy, warmth, and talent of our people. We care for patients with the most complex illnesses from across Utah and the Intermountain West, while also advancing imaging science, and training the next generation of radiologists, scientists, and technologists.

We have a proud legacy, built over generations by faculty and leaders whose work has shaped the entire field. We are grateful to and honor those who have made this Department such a special place.

The Department is growing, and so is University of Utah Health, as we serve a broad region with one of the fastest-growing populations in the country. Nestled in the Wasatch Mountains, Salt Lake City is an amazing place to build a career and a life.

Having newly returned to Utah, I look forward to getting to know the Department and the medical center in the coming months. I have my work cut out for me—there is much to learn in a department this accomplished. I am grateful to be doing so as part of such a strong leadership team.
