Oncologic Imaging Fellowship

Oncologic Imaging Fellowship Accepting Applications

The University of Utah has openings for Oncologic Imaging fellows. The fellowship is open to radiologists who have completed a residency in diagnostic radiology in the US or Canada. Applicants must either be an American citizen or hold a Green Card.

Clinical training for this Oncologic Imaging Fellowship will focus on oncologic CT and PET imaging of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis.  This is a one year fellowship. Fellows will rotate through Chest, Abdominal Imaging and Nuclear Medicine, with some flexibility on the exact rotation schedule.

Fellows will participate in multidisciplinary conferences and research projects.  Research areas include oncologic imaging, quantitative imaging, ultra-low dose CT, medical image perception, and artificial intelligence / machine learning.

Call Responsibilities, In-house Moonlighting and Benefits

Routine clinical responsibilities are primarily on weekdays with occasional evening/weekend coverage. Our fellows have the option of participating in the faculty pool for reimbursed attending coverage for general radiology studies evenings and on weekends/holidays.  Participating fellows will receive the same additional compensation that our participating attendings receive at an hourly rate competitive with community moonlighting opportunities.

Salary, conference and vacation time, and fringe benefits are competitive with other fellowship programs. More detailed information is available when you apply for the fellowship.

About Our Health Center

The University of Utah is a tertiary referral center for ~10% of the continental US and consequently we see a broad variety of thoracoabdominal oncologic disease.

Research is a growing aspect of our practice and fellow involvement is expected. The Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research (UCAIR) is the research arm of our department, supporting imaging research at the University of Utah. The Center for Scientific Computing Institute (SCI) on the University main campus is a source for advanced imaging collaboration. In 2016, Vizient Inc. ranked the University of Utah Health Care #1 in the nation for quality among university hospitals and fellows may opt for training in quality improvement.

Salt Lake City has a wealth of cultural outlets and world-class opportunities for outdoor activities. Still wondering "Why Utah?" Check this out.
