Why Utah?
My initial draw was the program's amazing reputation with huge names in the field as teaching faculty, with a bonus being the amazing location for outdoor hobbies. I really liked the "work hard play hard" mentality the U promoted. I wanted rigorous, thorough training with the ability to escape into the mountains on my days off, and the Utah outdoors are truly unbeatable. In my interview day, everyone I interacted with was incredibly friendly, bright, and welcoming. I also couples-matched with my spouse and the coordinators at the U were super sweet and proactive in making us feel welcomed and supported in the process. It just felt like a perfect fit.
